Recycle with Biome
We are no longer accepting:
Blister packs
Want a bin of your own? Purchase one here!
We are asking customers to please hold their blister packs for the moment. Proper recycling of blister packs is very expensive, and we are working on a new, exciting solution to the problem. Your patience is appreciated as we set this new process up.
Check back here occaisionally to be informed once our new program is up and running.
If you have too many to hold, please check out Pharmacycle's Blister Pack recycling satchel for an alternative recycling option.
Bottle caps
Unfortunately we are no longer accepting bottle caps for recycling. Please check with your local council to find alternative recycling options for this material. These days, bottle caps can often be left on the bottle for standard kerbside recycling or container buy-back programs.
Pens
Unfortunately we are no longer accepting pens in our recycling program. Officeworks provides a pen & marker recycling program, so please check with your local store to find an alternative drop-off point.
We accept:
Beauty packaging
Recycle skin care tubes and small glass and plastic bottles, makeup containers, lip balm tubes, and tops and pumps only from PET/PP bottles* (shampoo, body wash, face cleanser etc).
BEFORE YOU DROP: All beauty packaging must be emptied of product and wiped out clean.
*Note that we do not accept PET/PP (recycle symbols 1 & 5) bottles such as liquid hand wash and shampoo bottles, as these can be placed in your kerbside recycling bin. No aerosols.
Biome recycles these items with TerraCycle ® via their Zero Waste Box™ solution. The products are shipped to TerraCycle where they are sorted, turned into plastic granules and transformed into new products such as outdoor furniture.

Bras
When you recycle your wearable bras with Biome, they are sent to Support the Girls. Support the Girls is a wonderful Gold Coast based charity that runs 'Bra Gifting Days' and outreach services to provide vulnerable women and girls with dignity and encourage a sense of self-worth and self-care. Find out more at www.supportthegirls.com.au
BEFORE YOU DROP: please only donate bras in good condition that you would still wear.
Plastic bread tags
When you recycle your plastic bread tags with Biome they are donated to Bread Tags for Wheelchairs who on sell the plastic and use those funds to buy wheelchairs for people in need. Bread tags come in many shapes, sizes and colours. Made of High Impact Polystyrene they have a good recycling value. Your bread tags are sold to independent plastic moulding companies, such as South Australian Transmutation, in turn helping Bread Tags for Wheelchairs fund their work.
Note: Plastic bread tags only. Cardboard bread tags can be placed in your council recycling bin.
Contact lenses
Recycle contact lenses, plastic film and pods with Biome (excludes cardboard and paper packaging or solution bottles).

Corks
Save corks from landfill by giving them to us! The Girl Guides used to take our corks, but since this program ended we are seeking someone who will create something with the cork.
BEFORE YOU DROP: we only take real corks, not corks held together with plastic resin!
To reiterate: any corks that you wish to recycle with us must be 100% cork, with no additives, glue or plastic. We cannot accept composite cork materials. Thank you!
Oral care
We accept toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrushes, toothbrush and toothpaste tube outer packaging, and floss containers.
BEFORE YOU DROP: Toothpaste tubes must be emptied of product (cut in half and scrape everything out). Please do not include any cardboard packaging.
